PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE - October 2016: The branch of a Jack Pine seen in a stand of trees near Grand Sable Dunes in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Jack pine forests are drier with a soft forest floor. I could sit, or nap in some cases, in them for hours. On a calm day the sights, sounds, touch and smell are like a massage for all your senses.
